20 Children. 20 Pairs of Glasses. A Clearer Start.
This September, Highland Optical is giving 20 local children the gift of seeing clearly. Each child selected will receive a complete pair of prescription glasses at no cost, including the frame, lenses, case and adjustments.
What’s Included
Comprehensive Eye Exam
If needed, a comprehensive eye exam will be included. Children under the age of 19 are eligible for OHIP-covered eye examinations every 12 months.
Complete Pair of Prescription Glasses
A complete pair of prescription eyewear, including a frame selected from designated brands and prescription lenses
Blue-Light Coating Upgrade
Each pair of prescription glasses includes a complementary blue-light coating upgrade.
Care Essentials
Each child will receive a protective eyeglass case, cleaning cloth and lens cleaner.

18 & Under
The Clear Start Initiative is intended to help support local children who are in need of prescription eyewear but faces barriers of accessing it.
No purchase necessary
No application process for families
How it works
This initiative is only made possible through community partnership and local support!

Schools/Organizations identifies eligible children.

Parents/guardians gives permission.
3.
Referral is made by filling out this form: The Clear Start Initiative
4.
Highland Optical contacts the parents/guardians to set up an in-person consulting meeting.
